Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to log in to see the website?

No, most of the website is visible to the public.  As a member, you can log in to see restricted content including the member directory, club policies and bylaws, and contacts for our board members.  You can also view and edit your own profile and pay dues or event fees after logging in.

  • How do I access the member’s only pages?

Log in using the avatar symbol in the upper right corner (appears as a right-facing arrow on a mobile device).  Select this symbol to view or edit your profile, to change your password, or to log out.  After logging in, member’s only pages appear in the menu in the drop down under Members.

  • What is my user name?

Your user name is the email address you provided when you joined AWC.

  •   I would prefer to use a different email address?  How can I change my user name?

You cannot change your user name yourself.  Please contact the site administrator.

  •  I can’t log in with my email address.   How do I get access?

Please contact the site administrator for help.

  • How do I change my password?

Select the avatar symbol in the upper right corner (appears as a right-facing arrow on a mobile device).   If you are logged in, you should see a ‘Change Password’ option.  If you are not logged in, you can use the ‘Forgot Password’ option.

  • My personal information is missing or incorrect.  How do I change it?

Select the avatar symbol in the upper right corner (appears as a right-facing arrow on a mobile device) and select ‘View Profile’.  You should then see a button labeled ‘Edit Profile’ at the top left.

  •  My email has changed.  How do I change it?

You cannot change your email address yourself since this is your primary identifier in the database.  Please contact the site administrator.

  • Who can see my personal information?

Only AWC members can see the directory.   Your name, town, state, and zip code are visible in the directory by default.  Only site administrators can view all of your information.  To change what is visible, select ‘Edit Profile’, then select ‘Privacy’ in the line below the ‘SAVE’/’CANCEL’ buttons.

  • I want to call another member/send an email to another member.  How do I get their phone number/email address?

Due to privacy concerns, email addresses and phone numbers are not displayed in the directory, but you can send a message to another member through Wild Apricot; just click on their name and you will see an option to contact them.  The message will be sent to their email address.

  • What happened to the pages for Monthly Meetings, Workshops, and Exhibitions?
All events now appear in calendar view on the 'Events' page, and in abbreviated form on the home page.  Click on an event for more information.
  • When I visit the Events page, I see a list.  Can I see a calendar view?
Yes, click on 'Switch to calendar view' in the upper right corner of the page.  You may then use the tabs across the top to select to view by week, month, day, etc.

  • When do I pay membership dues?

Membership dues are valid for the calendar year, and should be renewed for the next year before the end of December.   You will receive several reminders before the grace period expires in January. New members can join at any time; new memberships are also valid until the end of the calendar year.

  • How do I renew my membership?
Visit your member profile by clicking on the avatar in the upper right corner of the page.  You will see 'a 'RENEW TO...' button part-way down the page.
  • I don’t remember if I paid dues yet.  How do I know if I owe dues?

Visit your member profile by clicking on the avatar in the upper right corner of the page.  You will see 'Renewal due on' just above the 'RENEW TO...' button.  You can also click on 'Invoices and payments' in the sub-menu below the 'EDIT PROFILE' button to see your last payment.

  • Is my on-line payment secure?
Payments are processed by Wild Apricot's AffiniPay system.  Wild Apricot is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. This means that Wild Apricot adheres to the policies and procedures set up by the major credit card companies to keep credit, debit, and cash card transactions secure, and protect cardholders against misuse of their personal information.   Before making any on-line payment, you should check that you see 'https://' in the URL at the top of your browser, and a padlock symbol next to the URL indicating that it is secure.
  • I would prefer to mail a check.  Where do I send it?
Checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 6030, Annapolis, MD 21401, and should be made payable to 'Annapolis Watercolor Club'.

  • I am not receiving emails from the AWC.  Why is that happening?
All members should receive the monthly newsletter and event announcements each month, sent to the email you have provided when you joined.  The emails will come from 'Annapolis Watercolor Club' through Wild Apricot or MailChimp.  Some mail servers may identify these as spam, so please check your spam or junk folders to make sure they are not being sent there.  Also make sure you do not have any filters set in your email application that might be blocking them.  Be sure that you have not previously opted out of emails within the Wild Apricot system by visiting your member profile and selecting 'Email subscriptions' from the sub-menu below the 'EDIT PROFILE' button.  Finally, contact the system administrator and we will try to resolve the problem.
  • I missed the last meeting.  How can I view the video?
If the demonstration artist has given permission to record and share the demo, it will be available on our YouTube channel, usually for a limited time.  The AWC YouTube channel link appears in the footer of members-only pages.
  • I would like to save the newsletter.  How do I do that?
The current newsletter and past issues of the newsletter are available in PDF format on the newsletter archives page.  This format can be downloaded and saved or printed.
  • I have a question and I don’t see the answer here.  How do I get an answer?
Contact the system administrator or any of the board members.
