Main & Market is a small restaurant and bakery in Eastport. They feature work by local artists for sale on their walls in the dining area, with a frequently changing selection.

There will be a reception in September, at a date to be determined.

The cafe hours are

Mon - Thurs 8am - 8:30pm

Friday 8am - 9pm

Saturday 8am - 9pm

Sunday 8am - 8pm

Information for exhibitors:

Registration (AWC members only) Deadline for entries August 31 or when the maximum number of registrations has been reached.

NOTE: Registration has closed; the limit has been reached.

Entry fee for artists: $15.00 for one painting; $20.00 for two paintings.

Entry Limit of 2 entries per artist; there is room for approx. 18 paintings, depending on size.

Labeling: Information on the back of each painting should include Title, Medium, Price, Artist, and Artist Contact Info (phone and/or email).

Sales: There is no commission. Sales will be between the buyer and the artist, so be sure to include up-to-date contact information.

Receiving: September 7, after 6 PM

Pick-up: October 30

In-Person Featuring Demonstration by Annette Uroskie

WHEN: Wednesday, October 14th, 2026 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM

WHERE: Seelos Hall Community Center at St. John Neumann Church, 620 N Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401

ART SALON: Please bring your current art work, sketches and paintings to share with others. They will be displayed and there will be paper and pens for people to write their reactions to your work, which you can take home.

WHAT TO BRING: A painting for salon and a snack or dessert to share

DEMONSTRATION: Annette Uroskie will demonstrate watercolor on Yupo.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Annette Uroskie is an award-winning artist and art educator with more than 45 years of experience. A graduate of Penn State University and the Maryland Institute College of Art, she taught in Anne Arundel County Public Schools and spent 23 years at The Key School in Annapolis, where she served as head of the Visual Art Department.

Originally a printmaker and batik artist, Annette has exhibited widely throughout the region and has works in several notable exhibitions and collections. More recently, she has explored digital photography, mixed media, and watercolor on innovative surfaces such as Yupo. A former Vice President of the Annapolis Watercolor Club, Annette has earned multiple first-place awards in AWC juried shows and was juried into a previous Baltimore Watercolor Society Mid-Atlantic Regional Exhibition.

Simple Landscapes with Watercolor Pen and Ink

Description: AWC presents a workshop with Naomi entitled "Simple Landscapes with Watercolor Pen and Ink." Naomi will provide a variety of photos. She will then guide you through sketching and simplifying a composition for painting. Naomi will demonstrate simple uses of watercolors, pen and ink to finalize the painting. A supply list will be provided upon registration. Naomi will provide materials for your use, however feel free to bring your paints, brushes and pens. Spend the day learning how to create a colorful landscape and also cultivate a new style of painting.

About the artist: Originally from Southeast England, Naomi holds a PhD in biochemistry and worked in healthcare before relocating to St. Michaels in 2018.

Her vibrant artwork captures local flora and fauna. The Eastern Shore and Chesapeake Bay landscapes fondly remind her of the River Thames salt marshes of her childhood. She masterfully translates these scenes using watercolors, acrylics, pastels, and oils.

Naomi is highly active in the regional art scene, serving as:

Plein Air Painter with the Painters of the Chesapeake Bay

She also recently exhibited her work at the juried 47th Annual Art Fair in Oxford,Maryland alongside Annapolis Watercolor Club President Linda Luke. Naomi was our demonstrator for our June meeting.

ABOUT:

Located in Millersville, Maryland, Hansel Hill Farm is a small, veteran- and woman-owned urban farm with a focus on sustainability, education, and community. Founded by first-generation farmers Brian and Vickie, the two-acre working farm is home to a variety of animals, gardens, beehives, and seasonal crops, creating a welcoming connection between visitors and everyday farm life.

Throughout the year, Hansel Hill Farm offers hands-on educational programs, camps, community events, hayrides, and opportunities to interact with its animals and explore the property. With its gardens, farm animals, rustic structures, and changing seasonal scenery, the farm also offers plenty of inspiration for artists looking to capture a little slice of rural life right here in Anne Arundel County.

Facilities: There will be full access to the farm. A covered pavilion, port-a-potties, and hand washing stations will be available.

It’s time to prepare for our annual exhibit at Ginger Cove. It’s always a pleasure to exhibit at this lovely community where the residents enjoy our paintings in their gallery. This show is open to all AWC members. The only requirement is that they must be framed original watercolor paintings. Our subject matter can be anything you desire, as long as the work hasn’t been previously exhibited at Ginger Cove. Just bring your best work!

We will accept two paintings per artist. Please attach a label to the back of each piece with the title of the painting, medium, price, and your name and contact information.

There is no commission. Sales arrangements are between the buyer and the artist.

There is no reception. However, you are welcome to come in at any time with some of your friends, to share the exhibit with them.

Note: No painting can be more than 22" x 28". Anything larger cannot be accommodated.

AWC Standards applying to this exhibit:

Artwork Dimensions: Maximum frame size 22" x 28" - including frame
Accepted Artwork: Accepted Artwork: All work must be totally original, created by the artist.
Media: Works must be water media paintings (i.e., watercolor, gouache, and ink [note: acrylics not allowed]) on natural or synthetic paper or paperboard; paper canvas, fabric (e.g., cotton or linen) canvas, Aquaboard, Clayboard or Gessoboard. Collage elements are permitted, but must be primarily original water media work.
- Permitted: Artwork resulting from guidance, photos, drawings or paintings used in workshop or classes must have proper credit given to the source to be specified after the “title” on the identification label and on the application form, i.e.: “photo from John Doe workshop”, or “from guidance in Jane Doe’s Class”.
Frame: Framed with mat and glass/Plexiglas: Plexiglas™ must be used for paintings larger than a half sheet or 330 square inches. Glazing (glass or Plexiglas™) must be clean, without noticeable scratches.
ii. If a mat is used, it must be plain white, cream or light gray with an optional colored liner. Mats must be clean.
iii. If a mat is not used under glazing, spacers are required to prevent the glazing from touching the painting surface.
iv. For paintings framed without mat or glass/Plexiglas or on Cradled (e.g. Aquabord, Claybord) or Gallery Wrapped paintings without a frame: A waterproof coating or protective sealant is required. Paintings must be mounted on a rigid substrate
v. All painting edges must be finished with no staples or other hardware visible.
vi. All Presentation types (framing, cradled, gallery wrapped, or mounted work) must be professional in appearance without visible damage and must be wired and ready to hang; no saw-tooth hangers are allowed.
Identification: Artwork must be identified with the Artist’s name, title of painting, Artist’s contact information (phone number and email) and price. If not for sale, include (NFS) or Price on Request (POR). This information should be placed on the back of the artwork.

The Annapolis Watercolor Club is excited to announce our upcoming exhibit at the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport Gateway Gallery, located on the Departures Level near Door 10, pre-security. Presented in coordination with the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, this exhibit offers AWC artists an exciting opportunity to showcase their work to the thousands of travelers and visitors who pass through BWI.
