CALLING FOR ARTISTS FOR THE FOURTH ANNUAL ART IN THE PARK IN HISTORIC STEVENSVILLE


Tucked away between Love Point Rd and Cockey Lane, ‘Pocket Park’ in Historic Stevensville will once again be transformed into a dazzling display of artistic mastery. The Arts and Entertainment Committee will host the Fourth Annual Art in the Park in downtown historic Stevensville, Maryland on June 23, 2012, from 9 am-4 pm. Booth and vendor applications are currently being accepted.  Please call 410-604-2224 or 410-643-9075 for information and submissions. All fees and donations will go to the development of the Arts and Entertainment District in Stevensville, a non-profit (501c3) organization. Stevensville is a partner of ‘The String of Pearls’, a collaboration of the Arts Districts of Queen Anne’s County.

Paint Annapolis 2012
The deadline for submission of entries for Paint Annapolis is April 2, 2012.  
Prizes and cash awards (totaling more than $5,000) will be awarded by a juror for Best in Show, 2nd and 3rd Place and Honorable Mention (4 selections) at the June 10th opening reception.

 Ardythe Jolliff's painting entitled "Autumn Blue" was awarded an "Honorable Mention" by juror Judi Betts at the WAS-H 35th International Exhibition in Houston, Texas. Her paintings entitled "Fanfare", Echoes and Im- ages", and "Sunwashed" were selected for display in the 21st Annual Strathmore Artists Exhibition as a "cohesive body of work”. The Exhibition will be on display from March 24 through April 21st at Strathmore Hall in N. Bethesda, MD. Her painting entitled "C-Venture" was selected by juror Steve Rogers for the Watercolor Society of Alabama's 71st Annual Exhibition 2012 to be held in the Littlehouse Galler- ies in Homestead Alabama from 6 May to 5 July 2012. Finally, her painting entitle "Chesapeake Bay Skipjack" received the First Place in Watercolor Award at the Chestertown Art League's 64th Annual Open Juried Show._______________________________________________________ 

Nicole Russell had a painting entitled “Rose II (wet-on-wet)” was accepted in the Student Art Show at the Cade Fine Arts Center Gallery  of the Anne Arundel Community College. The Show runs from 26 March through April 20. The reception will be April 5, 6 – 8pm.

 

MEMBERS.... Beginning with the January 2011 issue, you will have an opportunity to advertise your classes in the AWC newsletter. A special section with short announcements for your classes can be included in our monthly newsletter. For just $10, you can place your ad in a single newsletter. For $50, you can place an ad to run in all 10 issues.  All forms and payments must be received by the 19th of the month for inclusion in the following month's newsletter.
