GROUPS MINIATURES GROUP
We had a wonderful time at our January meeting sharing our “Simple Pleasure” miniatures. I am always amazed at the talent in this group! If you have never joined us and would like to see what we are all about we are meeting: Tuesday, March the 27th at 6PM at my place. Again, PLEASE bring your socks or slippers.
The subject of our next meeting will be a limited color palette. We will be working with just three colors. We will be using a Triad of the basic primary colors, YELLOW, RED, BLUE. It is best to use maybe a basic Lemon yellow, a Permanent Rose and a Windsor Blue. 1.Create a triangle with Yellow at the top, Rose/Red at the bottom left, and Blue on the right. Try mixing the yellows and reds to create great oranges etc. The red and blue to make great purples, and the blue and yellow to get great greens. Mix all three together in equal portions to get grays and darks etc. 2. Use the colors you have created with your triad to make great miniatures! 3. You can check out Dory Kanter”s youtube video for an example of painting with a triad palette: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzXhdzSsFjo
Since we are meeting in March the theme will be “Irish”. For example, Irish Stew, potato soup, Shepherds pie, corned beef and cabbage, brown bread, soda bread etc. Tisha Sheldon AWC Watercolor Workshops COMING Bruce Handford at Severna Park Library. See newsletter for details
William Wright Bill demonstrates at the workshop as the class watches Bill discusses the painting as the class takes note. Another great workshop - thanks to all that made it happen. Join us next time!
