Marietta Schreiber
Marietta Meigs Schreiber is a retired teacher who was an art instructor for 35
years; in 1996, she was the Maryland Art Educator of the year. Marietta is a signature
member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, a member of the Maryland Federation
of Art, and the Past President of the Annapolis Watercolor Club. She exhibits
in the Baltimore/Washington and Annapolis areas and has been an active watercolorist
since 1997. She likes to paint subjects that pull on her heartstrings, subjects
that challenge her ability intellectually as well as with a brush, and subjects
that have unusual compositional components. In the fall of 2007, she received
the Tilghman Award for Artistic Excellence from the Maryland Federation of Art.
She is a docent at the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College, an Anne Arundel
County Master Gardener, and a Trustee of the Arts Council of Anne Arundel Co.
Marietta’s joys of life are sailing, gardening, traveling and painting. She holds
a Bachelor of Art Education From the University of Kansas and a Master of Art
Education from Towson University.
